We’ve been in Los Angeles for five days now. It’s surreal and fun and expensive and overwhelming to set up a whole new life here and we’re loving it. Here’s just a taster of what we’ve done so far:

Visited Target, Ikea, Home Depot, Urban Home, Walmart and Macy’s all within 48 hours to semi-furnish our new home

Been invited to a film premiere by our cell phone salesman

Marvelled at the price of tuberoses ($5), gin ($30 for 1.75L), Ikea hotdogs (50c) and magazines ($3.99) – pretty much all we need to stay happy

Gone nuts for Martha Stewart kitchen, office and homeware stuffs (okay, just Naomi)

Happy danced over a filming notice in the lobby of our building (okay, just Michael)

Discovered Big Gulp at the 7-11

Accidentally ventured into one of the most dangerous areas in LA (if you’re reading this Fotini, don’t worry, we’re okay!) to go shopping for a duvet. We did wonder why there was a police station attached to the mall… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crenshaw,_Los_Angeles

Met a million ‘industry’ people at every turn

Despaired over the coffee situation here (pretty pukey)

Missed our cats 482 times

Filed (Naomi’s) first freelance story for Marie Claire

And here’s the visual proof…
